AMYGDALA, the seat of the emotions, is a little almond shaped structure in the limbic system. amygdala is derived from the Greek word amygdale, meaning “almond,”.

MAGDALA (Migdal) in Hebrew means “tower”, ” elevated, high, magnificent, great”. Magdalene may well be an honorific from the Hebrew and Aramaic roots for "tower" or "magnified."
